Competent businesses employ competent people, and this is definitely NOT one of them. The driver of the work van weaved through heavy traffic, without signalling, and sometimes "pushing" (changing lanes with no regard to adjacent vehicles) into other lanes. At one point, the vehicle in front of me locked up their brakes as this van decided to dive for exit 49 from the center lane at the last second, and if they hadn't they would've possibly been pushed off the bridge into the Merrimack River.
I have never worked for a place that makes you feel so degraded & insignificant!! The owner is very condescending, arrogant, pompous, callous, chauvinistic and degrading. To him EVERYONE is disposable - I firmly believe he feels this of his own mother! The few other employees, although nice, are walking around the place (which mind you, has heat set below 50 degrees, hot water is OFF & you need to wash your hands, in the non-heated bathroom (like going to an outside outhouse in the middle of the winter!), under ICE COLD water as well as any dishes you may have in cold water)...they walk around like the walking wounded. Owner/Boss can make the most intelligent person feel like an "idiot". The front door may as well be a rotating door, as he cannot keep office help. If it were not for the Controller, with his understanding, empathetic personality = nobody could survive there…downright degrading!
Although I haven't used them as a roofing company, I can assure you that I never would. One of their drivers caused a 3 car accident on 495. I was the vehicle in the front, and the company has not returned any phone calls from me, the police, or the insurance company. As someone who is 5 months pregnant and wanting to get my car fixed, I can't imagine having such awful morals that you wouldn't accept responsibility and correct such a mistake. The owner, Bob, hasn't returned my voice mails for the last month. Awful, awful people.
The two front occupants of the van were visibly drinking something in a concealed can/bottle (in a paper bag... Beer?), and a third occupant was bouncing around unbelted in the rear of the van, grasping onto some sort of rope for stability.
As I said, I have not done business with this company, but if they employ people that choose to blatantly put the public at risk, you probably don't want them on your roof. Food for thought.
While I've never used Progressive Roofing for their trade services, I did follow one of their work vans up I495 to exit 49, and to their shop on River St. today.
Despite what their web site says they do not do residential roofing.
Very depressing & degrading place to work!
